What is Juvéderm?
Juvéderm is an injectable that is made out of hyaluronic acid. This acid is naturally found in your cells, but diminishes over time as you age. Juvéderm injections help to restore your body’s supply of hyaluronic acid and, in doing so, can help get rid of wrinkles and lines around your face.
Is Juvéderm safe?
Juvéderm is approved by the FDA. Because it is comprised of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occuring substance in the body, you are not at risk of having an allergy to Juvéderm.
How does Juvéderm work?
The Juvéderm process takes less than an hour. Juvéderm is injected around the problematic areas of your face. After it has been injected, it is important that you avoid excessively touching your face for a few days. The results of Juvéderm are long-lasting and are noticeable for six to nine months.
Juvéderm works by giving volume to your facial tissue. The hyaluronic acid helps to stimulate the growth and production of connective tissue and collagen, giving your face a full and healthy look.
Are there any side effects of Juvéderm?
Although Juvéderm is considered to be safe, there are still common side effects. These include bumps, itching, redness, tenderness, and discomfort, especially at the area of the injection. These side effects should subside a few weeks after you have gotten the injection. If they continue, call us right away.
